The Ragdoll's medium to long coat has a plush, silky, mat-resistant texture that doesn't require daily grooming. They are easygoing and amiable around children and dogs, and they seem to adapt readily to changes in their surroundings. Quiet and calm, yet moderately active and playful, they prefer interactive play with their favorite human. Ragdolls thrive on human companionship and usually develop strong attachments to their owners. Due to the nature of the Ragdoll coat, which is a non-matting hair coat, little grooming is required. However, your Ragdoll will enjoy a weekly brushing and combing. With Ragdolls there is minimal hair loss which is a bonus. |

Ragdolls are pointed cats and they come in 3 standard patterns - colourpoint, mitted and bi-colour. Standard colours are Seal, Blue, Lilac & Chocolate. Besides the basic colours and patterns there are now added Red, Cream, Tortie & Lynx.

Colourpoint Ragdolls have darker colour on their ears. face, legs , feet and tail. Their body colour is lighter than their point colour. The chest and chin are usually lighter in colour but are close to the body colour.

Mitted Ragdolls are identical to colourpoint Ragdolls, except that they have white paws, chin and chest. Their front paws have little white mittens. On their back legs, the mittens extend halfway up their legs, becoming white boots. Their bodies, with the exception of their white chin and chest, are at least a shade lighter than their point colour. Bi-colour Ragdolls have a darker colour on their ears, face and tail. However, a bi-colour's face is characterised by a white, inverted "V". The stomach, all four legs, the feet, and the ruff are white. The body colour should be at least a shade lighter than the point colour, and the bi-colour Ragdoll may have various markings of white and colour patches accross the back. This distinctive appearance sets the Ragdoll apart from all other breeds. The bi-colour's nose and paw pad colour is pink. |
